On the Court with USPTA: Situational Tennis
with Otis Sadler,
USPTA Porfessional

When you're returning serve, what's the tactic that gives you a higher chance of winning the point? When you're pushed off court with a high, deep ball, what's the most successful reply to keep your opponent on edge? Have you been searching for the answers to these questions? USPTA Professional Otis Sadler poses these situational questions and others to his students, educating them on what the best tactic is and why. Don't let your opponents get the best of you in a match. As a bonus, take some time to watch Otis give full lessons and hear more of what he and his students have to say. Knowing what to do in certain match situations is critical to improving your game, and `Situational Tennis' is what you need to get there.

Movement Training for Tennis: Move Like an Athlete
with John Officer,
US Naval Academy Head Tennis Coach

Tennis as a sport has attracted players who have focused solely on that pursuit without developing all around athletic skills. The innate athletic ability of many of our players is questionable due to the specific focus on tennis. There are various athletic moves on a tennis court which can be taught. The current movement training involves a series of exercises designed to improve explosiveness, agility, balance, and endurance. The exercises are done separately from hitting a tennis ball. This tape will show all the athletic moves for each individual stroke on the tennis court. The key for athletic movement is to understand how to fuse the patterns with the strokes rather than simply isolating training. The goal is to move like a top flight athlete.
