FD-02412: with Taylor Burks, Georgia Military College Defensive Coordinator

Georgia Military College has made a habit of dominating offenses with the 3-5-3 defense. In this DVD, Coach Burks diagrams a number of effective ways to shut down the Wing-T. The Wing-T is designed to create assignment conflicts within the defense. Burks shows how to counter this philosophy by attacking the offensive backfield and forcing the offense to make decisions and adjustments that will neutralize the strengths of the offense. This DVD covers in-depth how to defend the power sweep, waggle pass, dive play, lead play and the wingback counter all of which are the key plays in the success of any Wing-T offense. By slanting, attacking gaps, and making plays in the backfield, you can force offensive backs to bounce sideline to sideline. Coach Burks diagrams plays versus the 3-5-3's base, tuff, solid and solid head fronts and also includes blitzes that will combat the key plays in the Wing-T. This DVD is a great compliment to any of the Georgia Military 3-5-3 videos.

FD-02413: with Rob Manchester, Georgia Military College Defensive Backs Coach

Georgia Military's 3-5-3 defense has allowed the Bulldogs to become one of the premier NJCAA football programs. Since 2001, GMC's defense has finished the season ranked number three or higher in total defense. By playing 95% man-to-man coverage and using a combination of various blitzes to pressure the quarterback, GMC has allowed fewer than 130 passing yards per game since switching to the 3-5-3. Over that time period they have picked off 70 passes and won an NJCAA national championship were the runner-up the next year. In this DVD, Coach Manchester details nine different coverages to combat any passing situation. Manchester provides overviews and various checks for all nine coverage formations. Each coverage also includes four possible adjustments, techniques for covering motion, and an effective blitz package. This DVD builds on Manchester's previous 3-5-3 secondary play DVDs.

FD-02414: with Taylor Burks, Georgia Military College Defensive Coordinator

Georgia Military College has dominated defensively since switching to the 3-5-3 defense in 2001. Since that time, GMC has finished every season ranked in the top three in total defense in the NJCAA. By attacking offenses and making plays in the backfield, the Bulldogs confuse offenses and win games. In this DVD, Coach Burks diagrams many different ways of bringing 4-, 5-, 6-, and 7-man pressure. He keeps the defensive back coverages simple and ties them into each blitz. All of his blitzes are simple, yet effective and will make game planning difficult for your opponents. By utilizing the five fronts of the 3-5-3 (base, solid, under, tough, and double eagle) offenses will have a very difficult time identifying from where the pressure will come. This will keep offenses off balance and greatly reduce the chances of a quarterback calling an audible to exploit your weakness. This DVD builds upon the concepts learned in the Basic of the 3-5-3. 50 minutes.

Cover: defending the double wing offense
Defending the Double Wing Offense
with Dick Bruich,
Kaiser HS (CA) Head Football Coach

Over the years, Coach Bruich's teams have gained the knowledge necessary to successfully stop the Double Wing attack. The Double Wing Offense, which Coach Bruich feels is a 'big play' offense, includes a center, two guards, two tackles and two tight ends toe to toe at the line of scrimmage. Seven main plays evolve from this offense: fullback dive, fullback trap, power pitch, buck sweep, pitch play, reverse and the pass. The goal of the defense is to make the offense drive the football and eliminate big plays. Principles for the line, ends, linebackers and secondary are a big part of the overall philosophy of this defense. From a 5-2 set, Bruich diagrams the roles of each position. Also, each of these four groups is broken down according to rules and teaching points. Game footage illustrates the effectiveness of this defensive system against the Double Wing. A big part of the Double Wing is the passing attack and Bruich diagrams coverage against the pass, including mixing up coverage.
