All Access Notre Dame Practice with Mike Brey
with Mike Brey,
Notre Dame Head Coach;
3x Big East Coach of the Year;
2010-11 Associated Press National Coach of the Year

Having been mentored as an assistant coach under two of the greatest coaches of all time--Mike Krzyzewski and Morgan Wooten--Mike Brey now brings his unique knowledge and experience to you.

In this All Access Practice DVD set, you will see Coach Breys' philosophy on offense and defense. You will learn the drills he uses to not only warm up players, but get them lots of shots in the process. You will gain insight on practice planning, spacing, and defending screens. You will see how Coach Brey sets up his 4-Out 1-In offense, how quickly he progresses to 5-on-5 in his practice and how he teaches his players to pride themselves in getting defensive stops.

You'll see how Brey uses sets to start and keep players moving through the motion offense. The key here is that players become familiar with the workings of the offense and each other. Brey then adds options that the team can run to take advantage of opponents. He includes competitive shooting drills for both the guards and posts, which become incorporated in motion drills. The players move and shoot according to the calls made by coach. You'll learn spacing, timing, player movement and ball reversals and the need for players to develop patience and allow options to develop to their benefit.

You'll also see Coach Brey and the Notre Dame coaching staff reviewing film of the third practice of their season. The coaches discuss what the players do and don't do well. The coaches present the practice film clips to the players and use it to teach the players the right way to play with all the freedom the Notre Dame offense provides.

You will learn how to improve your players' offensive productivity by giving them freedom to make reads and plays, and get a refreshing new perspective on open-minded coaching that includes learning from what your players do well and trial and error in scrimmages.

Incorporate the methods used by Mike Brey and have your players ready to compete from the opening tip.

Cover: the 4-out 1-in spots offense
The 4-Out 1-In Spots Offense
with Pat Clatchey,
Mount St. Joseph's (MD) High School;
2009 McDonalds All-American Head Coach

Score from anywhere on the floor using Pat Clatchey's versatile 4-Out 1-In Spot Offense. Take the ball inside, score from the perimeter or take it to the rim!

Philosophy:
This 4-Out 1-In set incorporates 15-17 foot spacing, constant five man motion, post action, screening, and opportunities to drive to the hoop.

Coach Clatchey makes all five spots on the floor interchangeable and puts players in position to succeed regardless of their skill set. With three different ways to initiate the offense you will be sure to keep the defense off-balanced with this continuity style offense.

Spots Offense:
Clatchey demonstrates the offense in both 5-on-0 and 5-on-5 settings to breakdown each and every action used in his 4-Out, 1-in set. With the use of flex, UCLA, and Vegas screens you will force the defense to defend multiple actions and keep them guessing.

Breakdown Drills:
Each action of the Spots Offense is presented with five different breakdown drills to install the offense. In these drills the players work on setting screens, backdoor cuts, catching and shooting off of the pass, and work on passing and playing in the low-post.

Sets and Quick Hitters:
In this free flowing offense, Clatchey displays six sets and quick hitters that control where the shots are taken. With the use of staggered, flare, and ball screens--on top of the unpredictability of the offense--the options are endless. With all of the plays flowing back into the continuity of the offense, it allows your players the freedom to make decisions.

This DVD presents you with many concepts that will keep your offense from being stuck in a rut. Order this video and see why Pat Clatchey is one of the most recognized high school coaches in the country!

Tom Pecora: The 4-Out 1-In Motion Offense
with Tom Pecora,
Fordham University Head Coach;
former Hofstra University Head Coach;,br />2x Regional Coach of the Year

Learn a motion offense that will allow your players to face up and play on the perimeter.

Tom Pecora developed his coaching philosophy under the tutelage of Rollie Massimino and Jay Wright. These relationships helped build the foundation for his 4-out 1-in motion offense, which will fit any kind of personnel you may have.

In this DVD, Coach Pecora explains how he divides the floor up for the spots in the motion offense. He shows how he uses ball screen action to initiate action to transition into the offense on a made and missed basket. Pecora demonstrates his counters and reads such as: Thumbs up, chase it and slash action to get out of the fast break or half court set. He then breaks down the half court action by showing slot-to-slot action, which includes high action involving the ball screen, skip pass or flare screen. He also demonstrates the side action, which is shown involving the wing and top to include the down screen and flare screen; and he walks you through post action rip and rip baseline.

Pecora includes a few feature plays that you can incorporate to isolate your best shooters for shots late in a possession and shows how he uses the motion offense to attack zone defenses.

Learn all of the reads, counters and entries that makes this 4-out 1-in offense so explosive. Find the "sweet spots" on offense and the "pressure points" on defense to make your team successful.

Dave Leitao: Offensive Sets for the 4-Out 1-In Motion Offense
with Dave Leitao, former University of Virginia Head Coach; 2007 ACC Coach of the Year

Keep it simple on offense and give your players freedom to play using Dave Leitao's 4-Out-1-In Offense. Leitao's offense is great for teams that have a smaller line up and want to attack the basket using positioning, movement and quick passes and cuts.

Take a court side seat as Leitao, who served as an associate head coach under Jim Calhoun at Connecticut and helped lead the Huskies to the 1999 national championship game, builds this effective offense on a pass and cut foundation. This offense provides basket cuts, pick and rolls, loops, and fades, which are executed according ball movement and to how the opponent defends.

Learn three options for attacking the defense with the dribble: loop, crack back and fade, which all build a foundation of ball and player movement.

This fast moving offense will allow your players to translate mismatches into advantages with the ultimate goal of getting more than one defender to guard the ball. Leitao also demonstrates several 2-man game and post up opportunities that will allow teams to get the ball to their most talented scorers.

This simple, yet effective offense can be successful not only versus man-to-man defense, but zone defense as well. It removes the thought process for your players that allows them to react to the defense.
